Abstract
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to make a model for the establishing the best cooperation and integration of university and education-research hospitals in nursing education and practice.
Method: The descriptive study was conducted on April 5, 2017 with the participation of nurses working in the 25 different Ministry of Health Education-Research Hospitals which were affiliated to the State University. The researcher's universe was composed of 63 nurses and reached to the whole of the universe.
Results: The average age of the nurses participating in the survey was 35.50 ± 6.64 years, 74.2% of them are graduated, 50% of them are employed as education nurses and 50.8% of them have been working in this profession for 15 years. The vast majority of respondents indicated that they agreed to “Ineffective student assessment due to lack of teaching staff in the clinic”, “Establishment of a common practice committee with academics and clinical nurses”, “Graduate training nurses who in the clinical field should be part of the theoretical and practical training”.
Conclusion:
In this study, it was determined that the university and the educational-research hospitals adopted collaborative approaches to nursing education and practice. It is recommended that this model be put into practice in pilot education-research hospitals.
