Abstract
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the levels of e-health literacy and healthy lifestyle behaviors of adolescents.
Material and Method: In the descriptive nature of this study, 17722 high school students who were educated in Balıkesir province in 2016-2017 were formed and 553 students who were accepted to participate in the research were reached. Data were collected through Personal Information Form, e-Health Literacy Scale and Healthy Life Style Behavior Scale. Percentile, t test and variance analysis were used in the analysis of the data.
Results: 55.5% of the students included in the survey were in the group of 16 years old and over, and 53.5% were male students. 40.1% of the students used internet more than 3 hours a day, 39.3% and 57.3%, 46.5% of the respondents said that access to internet health resources is important / very important. The e-health literacy mean score of the students was 25.98 ± 0.27 and the mean score of healthy lifestyle behaviors was 127.26 ± 0.93.
According to access to health resources on the internet in the last week, the importance of accessing the internet health resources by deciding on the health of the internet, healthy lifestyle behaviors and e-health literacy scores.
E-health literacy and healthy lifestyle behaviors mean averages of skill points; It has been found that internet is helpful/ very helpful in deciding about health, accessing health resources on the internet in the last week and above, and that adolescents who think that access to internet health resources is important/very important.
Conclusion: At the end of the study, it was determined that e-health literacy and healthy lifestyle behaviors were slightly higher than middle level but not at high level in adolescents.
