Abstract
The Mothers saying lullabies to their babies is as old as the history of mankind. Mothers utilised to lullabies in order to make their babies sleep and soothe them in every culture and every language. It is known that lullabies, which are the first song types that babies hear, support psychosocial, language and cognitive development. Begining with the pregnancy period, nurses who care for both mother and baby can benefit from the lullabies. Also nurses can benefit from lullabies to actively involve the mother in baby care. In this article lullabies are handled in terms of mother and baby and the relationship with nursing care is discussed.
