Abstract

INTRODUCTION

It is known that the elderly are the biggest consumer group of emergency care and as a vulnerable group they face considerable risks in the emergency hospital setting. In this article, recommendations are given for extending individualized care practices in terms of making emergency hospital setting more suitable for the elderly and meeting the emergency care needs of the elderly. All medical personnel that offer care to the elderly can establish a balance towards being more elderly-friendly in the setting of emergency care by gaining basic knowledge and skills about old age and providing some environmental arrangements.
