Abstract
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of first aid information of primary and secondary school teachers.
Method: The universe of this descriptive study consisted of teachers (151 persons) working in 4 primary schools with the same socioeconomic level in Çiğli and Karşıyaka districts of İzmir province where school health studies were conducted. A total of 116 teachers who participated in the first and second grades of the primary school participated in the research. Information Form (age, gender, branch, place of employment, status of first aid education and place of education) and First Aid Information Assessment Form (32 questions) were used in the research.
Results: According to the First Aid Information Form, the highest score was obtained by the teachers in the 25-34 age group (24.32 ± 1.95), the age residual knowledge score was decreased, the scores of the teachers in the 55-60 age group after the advanced analysis were statistically significantly lower than the teachers in the other age group (p <0.05). It was found that the mean score of the First Aid Information Assessment Form of female teachers (23.31 ± 3.60) was higher than that of male teachers (22.00 ± 4.52), but there was no statistically significant difference (p> 0.05). It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference in the First Aid Information Evaluation Form scores according to the teachers' branches (p> 0.05) (Table 5).
Conclusion: Teachers' first aid information is moderate. It was determined that the teachers' scores decreased as the age increased and the scores of teachers who received first aid training were higher than those who did not.
