Abstract
Myocardial infarction is due to the occlusion of the coronary arteries that feed the heart, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle and eventual necrosis of the heart. Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a serious public health problem because it is a disease that can result in death, usually seen in all age groups and after the occurrence of serious complications. Psychological problems are known to cause cardiovascular problems, and it is known that the presence of heart diseases will also cause psychiatric problems. Psychological and behavioral reactions are expected before and after AMI. It should not be forgotten that these reactions must be taken seriously and medically treated. Studies show that anxiety, depression and stress symptoms are seen in individuals after AMI. The purpose of writing this article is to bring the mental disorders that the AMI can have on people once again to the agenda.
