Abstract
INTRODUCTION
Peloidotherapy is a treatment method which is applied by using peloids (medical mud) in bathing, packaging, rolling and masking applications. Peloids are organic or inorganic substances which are formed by geological or biological events. In this treatment, nurses have roles and responsibilities in looking after patients and continuig their treatment, applying the procedure before, during and after the process in a standart way, recovery and improving patients’living qualities. Nurses besides their affiliated treatment roles, increase the patient’s complacency and the treatment’s efficiency with their independent roles of giving treats,training, counselling and also by using therapeutic communication, which is considered as key of recovery, actively. This treatment, which is applied in many countries around the World and Europe, has started being applied in our country for the first time at public hospitals in 2011 at Burs Şevket Yılmaz Education and Reseach Hospial and at Buyukçekmece State Hospial which belongs to the Secretary of Cekmece Constitution in 2013 while it has only being applied at İstanbul Medical Faculty and Gata Medical Ecology and Hydro Climatology Departments before. Aim of this study is to tell Peloidotherapy and the roles of the nurses in Peloidotherapy and inform the nurse.
