Abstract
Objective: This study was conducted to determine profiles and interventions on individualized developmental care of neonatal nurses in Neonatal Units of the Health Ministry in Turkey.
Methods: This descriptive study was carried from January to May 2016 through questionnaire from 2965 neonatal nurse in Turkey's 79 provinces. Percentage, arithmetic mean, Pearson chi square and variance (ANOVA) were used in the analysis of the obtained data.
Results: The average age of neonatal nurses was 31.84 ± 6.60 years, 0-4 years of work experience of 60.7%, 52.8% of bachelor degree, the owner of individualized developmental care about 83,6's% determined to be. It was found that nurses' education, certificate programs participation and individualized developmental care were statistically significant between the regions (p <0.001).
Conclusion: They have information on an individualized care approach of neonatal nurses in Turkey, but it was determined that the practices were still not adequate, the educational status of nurses and the methods they applied showed differences between the regions.
