Abstract
Aim: This research was conducted to evaluate the relationship between nursing satisfaction and empathy levels of the patients.
Methods: The descriptive study was conducted with the attendance of 297 patients in Ağrı state hospital who agreed to work between March 2018 and June 2018. Data Personal Data Form was collected with Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale (NNCSS) and Empathic Tendency Scale (ETS).
Results: The average age of the participants was 48.27 ± 18.75. It was determined that there was a meaningful difference between the NNCSS score and the income level (p <0.01), but there was no significant difference between the ETS average score and the income level (p> 0.05). It was determined that there was no significant difference between the NNCSS total point average and the hospitalized service (p> 0.05), and there was a significant difference between the ETS total point average and the hospitalized service (p <0.01).
Conclusion: Nursing satisfaction and empathic tendency ratios of the patients participating in the research were found to be at a good level. It was determined that there was a significant positive correlation between satisfaction levels and empathic tendency levels of patients participating in this study.
