Abstract

All cancers and treatment methods, especially breast and gynecological cancers, affect sexual functions, and sexual problems continue after the disease. Maintenance of sexual function is important in cancer patients as well as in healthy people. A healthcare team is supposed to counsel and support the patient in preventing and resolving sexual problems in the cancer process. Adopting a bio-psycho-social approach to assess sexuality to provide solutions to sexual problems provides a holistic perspective. Breast and gynecological cancers are major health issues that cause sexual problems in women, but colorectal cancers, head and neck cancers, and treatment modalities in the cancer process also lead to sexual problems in women. This study provides information on cancer types and treatment methods that cause sexual problems in women and the frequency and causes of sexual problems in women with cancer.
