Abstract

Spirituality is described as one of the most indispensable dimension of the holistic care philosophy which to search relationship between a human own spirit and a divine spirit. There is a spiritual dimension on every individual. Therefore, spirituality reveals as a necessity when fatal disease. Intensive care units a specific clinics where holistic care on foreground, to applied treatment and care interventions for patients who insufficiency on providing self-care. The patients who stayed in intensive care are no together with their friends and family the cause of negative effect on their valuable beliefs and feeling loneliness. Decrease to the quality of life that this situation increases a necessity moral support because of consist of spiritual distress for the patients who stayed in intensive care. Therefore, spirital necessities must be meet together with all the physical and psychological necessities in intensive care units and spiritual care is a part of holistic care. Spiritual care increases ability to give the meaning to life again on patients and existence of crisis experienced on intensive care patients overcomes with fatal disease and cause of problems. But, intensive care nurses frequently to disregard on spiritual dimension of the patient and insufficient to integrate on primary care field. This article emphasized that intensive care nurses have an important role of spiritual care and an enormous assignment. Eventually, spiritual care is indivisible a part of patient care.
