Abstract
Introductıon: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease which the organism cannot benefit from carbohydrates, oils and proteins adequately because of the insulin deficiency or defects under the thumb of insulin and requires continuous medical care. DM is a major health problem because of some features of it as increasing frequency, causing acute and chronic complications that increase mortality and morbidity while its follow-up and treatment is out of control and economic burden placed by it on individuals and society. It is one of the most common complications of diabetes is diabetic foot. Apart from the risk of amputation, increased morbidity, is a major socio-economic problems that cause deterioration of the quality of life of patients and higher treatment costs.
Diabetes, diabetic foot care and taking preventive measures is a situation that patient should continue throughout the life. The person should manage diabetic care by him/herself, make lifestyle changes and undertake the daily foot care responsibility.
The use of technology in education is an important opportunity in terms of meeting the needs. The education that will be consisted of diabetic care, diabetic foot care prepared in accordance with needs technology and mobile applications for protective measures as an alternative to the usual training; is quite important with regard to reaching easily to the information by patients managing the own foot care by individuals and their self-sufficiency. This article emphasizes the importance of technology and mobile education for targeted diabetic persons.
Conclusıon: Thanks to the training used in technology and mobile applications, education on diabetes management, diabetic foot care and preventive care is provided to the patients in an environment where they want, independent of time and space. It is thought that the use of these trainings will be more convenient and convenient for the patient.
