Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Research was designed as a descriptive and methodological in order to determine ‘UFSYKO’validity and reliability of Turkish society and in order to determine quality of life of women with uterine fibroid.
METHODS: 245 women which is admitted to Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital were collected at 04.10.2011-01.06.2011. Obstetrics and Gynecology Diagnostic Form, Short Form-36 and UFSYKO were used. Validation of reliability study of 185 women were included, re-applied to UFSYKO after 4 weeks.
RESULTS: Test-retest reliability coefficient was r=0.99; cronbach's alpha were found to be 0.97. UFSYKO total score determined as 60.55 ± 22: 14. '37.1%of women admitted to hospital due to bleeding, 40.8%of women complaints continued for 0-6 months, 62.4%of women have low hemoglobin and hematocrit values, 42%of women are mothers of a history of uterine fibroid, 35.1%of women have history of myomectomy/hysterectomy, 42.9%of women have incontinence’was found.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: UFSYKO Turkish society, to measure the quality of life of patients with uterine fibroid were found to be valid and reliable tool. According to UFSYKO, women who have chronic disease, suffer from urinary incontinence, and have low hemoglobin values were found to be lower quality of life.
