Objective: This study was conducted to determine the perceptions of the nurses about the spiritual care needs of the patients and the factors affecting.
Method: This descriptive research was carried out with 133 nurses who were working at a state hospital in western Turkey. Research data were collected with the “Nurse Presentation Form” and the “Spiritual Perception of Support Scale” (SPSS). In the analysis of the data, number-percentage, t-test and ANOVA tests were used.
Results: The average age of the nurses participating in the study was 36.63 ± 4.55 and 94% were female. 54.9% of the nurses had bachelor degree, 57.9% were working in internal units and 81.2% were serving as nurse longer than 10 years. According to the results of the research, the average SPSS total score was found as 47.98 ± 7.93. There was no significant difference between the gender of the nurses, the clinic they were working, their educational status, working duration, status of having training and applications about spiritual support and SPSS total average score (p>0.05).
Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it was determined that nurse ' perception level of spiritual support was not affected by demographic features and spiritual perception of support of the nurses was found to be high. Amaç: Bu araştırmada hemşirelerin, hastaların manevi bakım ihtiyacı konusundaki algıları ve bunu etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlandı.
Yöntem: Bu tanımlayıcı çalışma, Türkiye’nin batısında bulunan bir devlet hastanesinde çalışan 133 hemşire ile yürütüldü. Araştırma verileri “Hemşire Tanıtım Formu” ve “Manevi Destek Algısı Ölçeği (MDAÖ)” ile toplanıldı. Verilerin analizinde sayı-yüzde, t-test ve ANOVA testleri kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 36.63 ±4.55 olup, %94’ü kadındır. Hemşirelerin %54.9’u lisans mezunu, %57.9’u dahili kliniklerde çalışmakta ve %81.2’si 10 yıldan daha uzun süredir hemşire olarak görev yapmaktadır. Araştırma bulgularına göre hemşirelerin, MDAÖ toplam puan ortalamaları 47.98 ±7.93 olarak bulundu. Hemşirelerin cinsiyetine, çalıştıkları kliniğe, eğitim durumuna, çalışma yılına, mesleki bir derneğe üye olma durumuna, manevi desteğe ilişkin eğitim alma durumları ve manevi desteğe yönelik uygulama durumları ile MDAÖ toplam puan ortalaması arasında anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır (p>0.05).
Sonuç: Araştırma sonucuna göre hemşirelerin manevi destek algı düzeyini tanıtıcı özelliklerin etkilemediği saptanmış ve manevi destek algılarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Manevi destek, manevi bakım, hemşirelik, hemşirelik bakımı
